The name Reunion Quartet, with origination in 1993, came from a reuniting of Roger Smith with his cousin Robert Wass from an earlier period of singing some 18 years beforehand. Each of the group’s singers including Phil Parks, have many years of singing with other groups and have shared a friendship over decades. Jeff Coalter, the newest member of Reunion Quartet, joined the group in 2011. The name also signifies the reuniting of Christian believers in heaven at the end of this life.
Prior to Reunion Quartet’s assembly, Roger and Robert along with several brothers sang with the Smith Boys from Princess Anne, Maryland. Phill sang with the Marion Baptist Singers, Unity Quartet, and New Vision while Jeff was largely involved in local ministry on the eastern shore.
